An Intimate Wedding at Volunteer Park Conservatory
Some couples just have a way of making you feel like you’ve known them forever. Chrissy and Brian are one of those couples.
Brian first reached out to me a year before their wedding, hoping I could photograph his proposal to Chrissy. He had it all planned out and wanted it captured — but I was already booked that day. I was genuinely disappointed to miss it. But what happened next spoke volumes about who they are as people.
Even though I couldn’t be there for the proposal, Chrissy and Brian told me they were determined to have me photograph their engagement and wedding. From the start, it felt like we were completely aligned. They didn’t want anything overly posed or orchestrated — they just wanted someone to document their day honestly and beautifully.
Their wedding took place at the Volunteer Park Conservatory, a peaceful hidden gem right in the heart of Seattle. The day was full of ease and intention — quiet, beautiful, and incredibly heartfelt. Surrounded by just close family and friends, Chrissy and Brian exchanged vows in a space overflowing with natural light and lush greenery. The whole moment felt sacred in its simplicity.
After the ceremony, we explored the park for portraits that felt just like them — easy, authentic, and full of joy. From there, the celebration moved to Spinasse, a cozy Italian restaurant tucked into Capitol Hill. The evening was full of laughter, clinking glasses, amazing food, and the kind of warmth that only happens when you’re celebrating with your favorite people.
This wasn’t a big wedding — it was something better. It was deeply personal, full of love, and completely centered around what mattered most to Chrissy and Brian. It was a reminder that when a wedding truly reflects a couple, every photo tells a deeper story.
Chrissy and Brian, thank you for inviting me into your world. I’m so grateful to have witnessed and documented a day so true to who you are.
